About the Company

Particle Code is the creator of the award-winning cross-platform Particle SDK. Particle automates the porting process, enabling software developers to create native and HTML5 apps from a single codebase using multiple programming languages such as Java and AS3. With its robust, patent-pending WYSIWYG editor, isometric and physics engines, backend and translation technologies, Particle was designed for software development that requires constant iteration, powerful performance and wide platform coverage.

 

The company received a DEMOgod award at DEMO Fall 2010 for clear vision and outstanding product, and was selected a “Top Ten Mobile Startup” by Laptop Magazine in 2011. Particle Code’s technology was created by the founders of Mytopia, the first cross-platform multiplayer game developer in the smartphone space, acquired by 888 Holdings (LSE: 888) in May 2010.

Meet the Team

Galia BenartziCEO, Founder

Galia is the CEO of Particle Code and one of its founders. As CEO, Galia is responsible for the company’s daily operations, business relationships and general karma. Before Particle Code, Galia joined Guy to co-found Mytopia, a leading social games business acquired by 888 (LSE: 888). At Mytopia, Galia ran business development and helped raise its first round of financing.

Galia has a BA in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College and an MA in International Relations and International Economics with a specialization in Energy Policy from SAIS Johns Hopkins. She is an avid recycler and aspiring yogi.

Yotam ShachamCTO, Founder

Yotam is a seasoned game developer and platform architect with over a decade of experience building cross-platform technologies. As CTO of Particle Code, Yotam is responsible for the core technology behind the Particle Platform and the company’s cross-platform strategy. Before Particle, Yotam was CTO and co-founder of Mytopia, a social games business acquired by 888 (LSE: 888).

Yotam earned his Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the Technion University in Haifa, Israel. Yotam has held senior engineering roles at Digital Dimensions building 3D Virtual Worlds, Pixel Technologies building a mobile and TV games platform and Mars Games, where he helped launch 4 new iTV channels.

Yudi LeviChief Architect, Founder

Yudi serves as the Chief Architect of Particle Code, where he is in charge of the Particle Platform’s core architecture and oversees product development. Before Particle Code, Yudi was Chief Architect and co-founder of Mytopia, a social games business acquired by 888 (LSE: 888). Before Mytopia, Yudi was an internet entrepreneur founding startups in the networking, data mining, travel and mobile application industries. Yudi was trained in Mamram, the elite computing unit of the Israeli Defense Forces.

Russ McMahonVice President, R&D

Russ McMahon is Vice President, Research & Development at Particle Code. In this role he is responsible for the company’s technology strategy and focus on innovation. Prior to Particle Code, Russ was VP Engineering at Mytopia, a social games business acquired by 888.

Prior to Mytopia, Russ co-founded Agent Software, a startup exploring the use of autonomous software agents in highly distributed environments. Agent Software served as technical consultants to DARPA. Before Agent, Russ headed the networking group at Be, Incorporated, creating the networking stack for the technically-acclaimed BeOS operating system.

Even before BeOS, Russ cut his engineering teeth at NetManage, Inc., where he played a major role developing some of key building blocks of the modern Internet. Russ worked on one of the earliest TCP/IP implementations running on Microsoft Windows. The specification and implementation would become the standard deployed on all Microsoft Windows computers and is known to this day as WinSock Russ is a graduate of California State University, Hayward with a BS in Mathematics/Computer Science. He is also the author of several patents, both issued and pending.

Neeraj GuptaVice President of Engineering

Neeraj Gupta brings over 18 years of software industry experience across diverse technologies: enterprise, cloud computing, SaaS, mobile and games. Neeraj is responsible for Particle Code’s engineering teams worldwide, overseeing the development of the Particle SDK product and mobile games. Prior to Particle Code, he was at SpikeSource, as Director of Engineering, leading SaaS based Solution Factory mobile platform. Prior to SpikeSource, Neeraj was at Oracle for over 10 years in the Server Technologies division, architecting and managing Windows and .NET Data Access product lines.

Neeraj Gupta holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from I.E.T. India and a graduate degree in Business Administration from Haas School of Business, Berkeley.

Guy is the Chairman of Particle Code and one of its founders.

Before Particle Code, Guy was CEO and founder of Mytopia, a leading social games business acquired by 888 (LSE: 888) in May 2010. Mytopia was the first to create real-time multiplayer and cross-platform games for Smartphones.

Guy has a BA in Political Science from the Colorado College in Colorado Springs.

Meet the Advisors

Houssein Eslambolchi

Dr. Eslambolchi is a well known scientist recognized globally for his technical work on IP technologies, with over 1000 patents in various stages under his name – issued, pending and in preparation. In addition to having been the global CTO and CIO of AT&T, he presided over AT&T’s Global Networking Technology Services (GNTS) division and over AT&T Labs. As GNTS President and CEO, he led engineering, operations, architecture, and the development of the AT&T global network for both packet and circuit switched networks worldwide as well as its Global Network Operations Center – AT&T’s networking nerve center. Dr. Eslambolchi has earned a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.

Eric Benhamou

Eric Benhamou is chairman and CEO of Benhamou Global Ventures, LLC. Benhamou Global Ventures, started in 2003, invests and plays an active role in innovative high tech firms throughout the world. He is an adjunct professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise at INSEAD. He is also a visiting professor at Ben Gurion University. He served as chairman of the board of directors of Palm, Inc. from 1999 until 2007 and as chief executive officer of Palm from 2001 until 2003. Benhamou served as chief executive officer of 3Com Corporation from 1990 until 2000 and as chairman of the board of directors until its sale to HP in April 2010. Previously, he held a variety of senior management positions at 3Com.In 1981, Mr. Benhamou co-founded Bridge Communications, an early networking pioneer, and was vice president of engineering until its merger with 3Com in 1987.

In 2003, Mr. Benhamou was appointed to the Joint High Level Advisory Panel of the U.S.- Israel Science and Technology Commission by U.S. Commerce Secretary Donald Evans. He currently serves as chairman of the board of Cypress Semiconductor and as a member of the board of RealNetworks, Inc and of Silicon Valley Bancshares. He serves on the board of directors of several privately held companies. Mr. Benhamou serves on the executive committee of TechNet. He is the chairman of the Israel Venture Network, a venture philanthropy organization for a stronger Israeli society.

Anik Bose

Anik Bose is a seasoned executive with experience in both information technology and biotechnology businesses. He has headed the business development functions at communications technology companies such as 3Com as well as biotechnology focused companies such as Monsanto. In his business development roles he has managed a $250MM corporate venture fund, spearheaded dozens of venture capital investments and executed numerous spin out transactions as well as several large M&A transactions over $1.4Bn in value. His venture investments include – Mesh Networks, Parthus, Cicada Semiconductor, Microtune, ADMTek, Atrica, Intransa, Sheer Networks, Air Prime, Yipes, Silicon Wave and Healthetec. On the communications technology side, Mr. Bose architected the launch of the fastest growing Asian networking company (H3C – 3Com’sjoint venture with Huawei), which achieved annual revenues of over $700 million and a market valuation of $1.8Bn within 36 months of launch. For Monsanto, Mr. Bose developed and implemented global biotech growth strategies targeted towards achieving a significant return on Monsanto’s $10 billion of acquisitions.

Mr. Bose is currently a partner at Benhamou Global Ventures. BGV is an an early stage venture fund that assists entrepreneurs in building a new generation of high technology companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bose served as a Partner in the High Technology Practice of Deloitte Management Consulting in San Francisco.

Mr. Bose holds a MBA from Boston College and BA in Economics from the University of Delhi, India.
